NO to Mass Immigration.
Dave Brothers and UKIP County Durham want a five-year freeze on immigration into Britain
No one should be admitted unless they are fluent in English, have the required educational qualifications, demonstrate loyalty to the UK, its laws and values, and can support themselves financially, with no recourse to public funds – and this to apply equally to their dependents.
NO to Centralised Government.
TODAY, local councils, like Durham County Council, no longer have any real power. Something Dave Brothers will work to reverse, along with giving power back to the districts.
Much of the powers that once belonged to Local and County Councils are now given to unelected bodies such as Regional Development Authorities like One North East or have been taken away by the EU.
Only the UK Independence Party believes in true local independence, free from Whitehall and free from European interference.
The UKIP manifesto sets out the vision of how this should be done:
INDEPENDENCE for local councils, schools, police, hospitals, social care and planning.
INDEPENDENCE for local people to decide local issues in referendums.
INDEPENDENCE to spend local money the way local people want.
INDEPENDENCE from the costs and interference of the European Union.

Welcome to my ramblings about life and politics in Newcastle, Gateshead, County Durham and the UK. I am a UKIP activist, but not all of my views are necessarily UKIP policy.
